The vegan project

Will you join?

My name is Peter Voorhuis, and I’ve started a project that’s very close to my heart, and probably yours as well. I’m taking iconic portraits of well-known vegans and interviewing them about their motivations and experiences. All these stories will be collected in a book that will be widely available to readers worldwide through a large volume of printed versions and will be exhibited in many exhibitions around the world. Encouraging people to think about animal welfare and environmental protection. If we can inspire others to embrace a vegan lifestyle, we truly can make a meaningful impact!

All profits from the book will be used to improve animal rights and promote a vegan lifestyle.

So here’s a bold question for you: Would you be willing to participate in this project? To share your journey and what you find important regarding veganism?  I travel to wherever you are and won’t take up much of your time. Before I publish anything, I’ll send you the photos and interview for approval.

Read the story that Maggie Baird told, to give you an example:

Maggie Baird

Interview with Maggie Baird

When Maggie said she was open to joining the Vegan Project and sharing her story, I was genuinely pleased. She’s such a thoughtful and passionate advocate for food justice and sustainability. She’s been living plant-based for decades, long before she even knew the term. As the founder of Support + Feed, she helps bring nourishing vegan meals to underserved communities while raising awareness about the power of food. I have a lot of respect for her.
She also advocates for plant-based options at her daughter’s concerts, and it’s making a real impact. Some venues offer partially or even fully vegan menus. That’s advocacy at a big scale.
In our conversation, Maggie spoke about her journey, the lessons she’s learned, and why even one plant-based meal a day can be a powerful step toward change.

Alexis Gauthier

Interview with Alexis Gauthier

Only a few chefs have challenged the fine-dining world quite like Alexis Gauthier. He became a multi-award-winning chef and successful restaurateur. Even more impressive was his courageous decision in 2021: to remove all animal products from his menu, and transformed Gauthier Soho into a vegan restaurant. Today, he owns three restaurants, fully vegan of course. You may also recognize him from the BBC TV show MasterChef, where he became the first vegan judge on the show. I spoke with him about his decision to turn his restaurant fully vegan, and the personal story behind it

I’m considering my participation
